Summary:

We are seeking a Director of Advanced Practice Providers (DAPP) to serve as our clinical leader for APRNs across outpatient clinics and school-based health centers. You will provide direct clinical oversight, ensure adherence to evidence-based practices, and champion provider competency, quality, and safety.

This is a blended role, requiring (3) full days of direct patient care and (2) days dedicated to administrative and leadership responsibilities each week.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

All agency staff must attend all mandatory department/agency meetings and training.

Clinical Oversight & Quality Assurance

• Assist in conducting routine and targeted chart audits to ensure clinical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to evidence-based guidelines.
• Provide clinical consultation and guidance to APRNs regarding complex cases, scope of practice, and clinical decision-making.
• Collaborate with the Quality Nurse to identify trends, address performance gaps, and implement improvement plans.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and federal regulations governing APRN practice, school-based health, and outpatient primary care.

Provider Development, Training & Support

• Lead and facilitate provider meetings, clinical case reviews, and educational sessions.
• Develop and deliver clinical training, including updates on best practices, new protocols, and clinical competencies.
• Oversee provider onboarding, including working alongside Directors to complete 30, 60, and 90-day reviews to ensure successful integration and competency.
• Serve as a clinical mentor and resource for APRNs, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Work closely with the program directors to align clinical practice with operational workflows, ensuring seamless patient care delivery.
• Collaborate with department clinical leadership, school-based health, and medical leadership teams. e.g., addiction medicine lead, psychiatry lead.
• Represent nursing and APRN practice in leadership meetings, regulatory reviews, and interdisciplinary planning.
• Promote safe, ethical, and culturally responsive care across all clinical settings.

Clinical & Administrative Time Allocation

This position includes a blended schedule that supports both direct patient care and clinical leadership responsibilities. The DAPP will:

• Provide three full (3) days of direct clinical care
• Dedicate two (2) days to administrative and leadership duties.
• Maintain a balanced productivity expectation that reflects direct care delivery with clinical leadership.

• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and medications
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records and other healthcare software.

Qualifications, Education &/Or Experience:

• Completion of a graduate-level Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) program.
• Current Connecticut APRN license is good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, preferably in primary care, family medicine, pediatrics, or school-based health.
• Demonstrated expertise in clinical quality, evidence-based practice, and provider development.
• Strong communication, coaching, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to lead with professionalism, humility, and a commitment to health equity
• Experience with EMR-based chart auditing and quality reporting.
• Familiarity with FQHC, community health, or integrated care models.
• Ability to balance clinical oversight with supportive, strength-based leadership.
• Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and patient-centered care.
