General Duties

Under the general direction of the Medical Director, the Obstetrical & Gynecology physician conducts history, examination, and treatment of common gynecological conditions affecting females 12 years and older (e.g., prenatal care for non-high-risk women, sexually transmitted diseases, hormonal contraception, contraceptive subdermal implant insertion & removal and contraceptive IUD insertion & removal (if properly trained) whereby the conditions can be managed on an outpatient basis with or without the direct involvement of an Ob/GYN physician.

Dental Hygienist cleans calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums; Applies fluorides and other cavity preventing agents to arrest dental decay. Examines gums, using probes, to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease. Performs x-ray and makes impressions for study casts when necessary; documents conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist in EHR system; Educates patient in maintaining good oral health and develops and promotes community dental health programs.

Family Physician to treat patients, including history, examination, treatment and prevention of simple to moderately complex medical conditions.

Under the direction of the Medical Director, the Nurse Practitioner (APRN) conducts History, Examination and Treatment of simple to complex medical conditions whereby the conditions are typically managed on an outpatient basis within the SCA scope of practice. Examples of such conditions include: acute upper respiratory viral infectious conditions, acute ENT viral and bacterial infectious conditions (e.g., otitis externa, otitis media, and pharyngitis), mild to moderate asthma exacerbations, simple dermatological disorders (e.g., uncomplicated burns, contact dermatitis, simple I&D, and atopic dermatitis) and common sexually transmitted diseases.

Provides behavioral health services to NEON patients experiencing mental health conditions and emotional disorders. Conducts history and assessment; determines diagnosis; develops treatment plan and provides clinical counseling, psychosocial interventions and social psychotherapy. Provides supervision of Social Workers and coordinates integration of Primary Care and Behavioral Health care teams.

Dentist to provide quality, compressive, preventive and diagnostic services including cleanings, exams, and treatment planning. Performs restorative procedures such as fillings, crowns, root canal treatments, extractions and fixed and removable prosthodontics. Must be cognizant of the public health, social and economic factors that impact the oral and overall health of patients in an underserved setting.

Exciting opportunity at very busy FQHC Health Center site. Adult, Child & Family Therapist/Chemical Dependency Counselor provides behavioral health services to NEON patients experiencing mental health conditions and chemical dependency. Conducts history and assessment; determines diagnosis; develops treatment plan and provides clinical counseling, psychosocial interventions and social psychotherapy. Provides Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral and Treatment (SBIRT), Substance Abuse Therapy and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). Coordinates the Substance Abuse Expansion Program services and staff. Provides supervision of Chemical Dependency Counselors and coordinates integration of Primary Care and Behavioral Health Substance Abuse care team. Provides supervision of Chemical Dependency Counselors and students with required supervisory licensure. May provide training and supervision to students within the scope of supervisory licensure.

Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Health Services, Inc. (NEON) is a FQHC, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). NEON offers multi-specialty community-based, Primary Care across the lifespan with Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/Gyn and Behavioral Health Care providers. Dental services are currently offered at 4 health center sites and on a Mobile Dental Unit. Our specialty services include Optometry, Podiatry and Nutrition. We have on-site pharmacies at 4 or our health center locations. NEON is a Level 3 recognized patient-centered medical home (PCMH). Our integrated care teams are a key component to the quality care we provide to our patients. Patients experiencing opiate dependence have access to Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) through their primary care provider in addition to chemical dependency counseling.
