Artesia is located in southeastern New Mexico, nestled between the two larger cities of Roswell to the north and Carlsbad to the south. The Texas border is less than 100 miles away to the east and the beautiful mountains.
THE JOB:
Key Responsibilities:Inpatient Care - Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic wounds in the hospital setting.
- Provide advanced wound care services, including assessment for and management of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including nursing, surgery, infectious disease, vascular specialists, and case management—to develop individualized, evidence-based care plans.
- Perform procedures such as wound debridement, application of advanced dressings, and negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT).
- Coordinate inpatient consultations in collaboration with Hospitalist and Surgical Services HBO therapy when indicated and monitor patient tolerance and outcomes.
- Track wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans to improve clinical outcomes and reduce complications.
Outpatient Care - Provide comprehensive wound care services in an outpatient clinic setting for both hospital discharges and community referrals.
- Evaluate patients for hyperbaric oxygen therapy and manage treatment plans in accordance with clinical guidelines and safety standards.
- Deliver patient and caregiver education on wound prevention, treatment expectations, HBO therapy, and home care strategies.
- Coordinate follow-up appointments, specialty referrals, and ongoing treatment plans to ensure continuity of care.
- Monitor long-term healing progress and implement preventative strategies to reduce recurrence.
SCHEDULE:--Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (No call or weekends)

Work Week 4.5 days per week with one half day of administrative (charting, patient follow-up, care coordination, etc.).COMP & BENEFITSHourly rate up to $75/hr.

REQUIREMENTS-- At least 2 years' experience in Wound Care
-- Must be ACLS certified
--Experience in wound care, hyperbaric medicine, or related field preferred
- Wound Care Certification (e.g., WCC, CWCN, or equivalent) preferred or willingness to obtain.
