We are seeking a Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Physician Assistant for a 130-day locum tenens assignment in Colorado starting Apr 6, 2026. This position features 8-hour day shifts, five days per week, with 7-10 call days per month (24-hour call; frequency varies) and responsibilities in the floor, OR, rounding, and consults. Job Details Location: Colorado Start Date: Apr 6, 2026 LOA: 130 days Provider Type Needed: Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Physician Assistant Schedule: 8-hour days, 5x per week; 7-10 call days/month (24-hour call, frequency varies); floor, OR, rounding, consult; days dependent on schedule Responsibilities and Duties Function independently to provide high quality, patient-centric care in collaboration with the healthcare team Deliver care across various settings and modalities, including hospital, clinic, telephone, video, or secure email when appropriate Gather patient history, conduct physical exams, review prior records and ancillary data, and use sound judgment and critical problem-solving skills Develop and monitor treatment plans, communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team Provide education and counseling to patients and families to support care plans, treatment, and discharge Collaborate with healthcare team members, leadership, and medical staff to ensure safe patient care Communicate pertinent findings and information to physicians and the care team Assist collaborating physicians with patient management in the hospital, consistent with policies and approved Scope of Practice Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and practice metrics; document as required May float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) as needed May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts Additional Information Active Colorado license required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Regular attendance and ability to work nights and/or weekends may be required Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
