Northeastern Rural Health Clinics is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner to join Westwood Family Practice in Westwood, California. This is an opportunity to become a trusted healthcare provider in a small mountain community where local access to primary care makes a meaningful difference.
The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide preventive, acute, and chronic care to patients across the lifespan. Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients, developing care plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, prescribing medications, and coordinating referrals and follow-up care.
On a full clinic day, providers can expect to see approximately 18–20 patients. Dedicated administrative time is incorporated into the schedule to support documentation, follow-up, and care coordination.
Full-time scheduling is flexible, with the option of working five eight-hour days or four ten-hour days. Clinic schedules are arranged Monday through Friday, with no regular weekend schedule or hospital call. Clinic call is minimal, handled by telephone, and does not require the provider to report to the clinic.
Although the provider will be based at Westwood Family Practice, this is not an isolated practice. The provider remains connected to NRHC’s broader clinical team and is supported by nursing, referrals, care coordination, and administrative staff. Providers also have access to experienced colleagues and organizational leadership for consultation and support.
For candidates interested in helping guide the day-to-day operations and continued growth of Westwood Family Practice, an optional Office Manager leadership assignment may also be available. This responsibility includes an additional $15,000 annual stipend and is not required as a condition of the clinical position.
