Nurse Practitioner

Sun River Health is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive primary, preventative, and behavioral health services in Bedford Avenue, NY. This role involves planning, evaluating, and providing patient care under the direction of a physician, with an emphasis on preventative health measures and patient education. Responsibilities

• Take histories, perform physical examinations, give immunizations (as necessary) and do patient education and counseling
• Order appropriate lab work, draw blood for lab work if needed, and perform some lab tests such as wet prep microscopic exams
• Prescribe treatment for minor illnesses, and consult with physician regarding medication, chronic illness and referrals when appropriate
• Maintain legible and appropriate documentation and review records periodically
• Do follow-up of abnormal pap smears and reportable STD's
• Attend case conferences involving patients
• Attend continuing education programs to increase skills and knowledge
• Attend provider meetings and participate in quality improvement programs and team assignments

Compensation

• Salary: $154,876.80 - $167,377.60
• Sign On Bonus: $3,500

Requirements

• Master's Degree
• Valid license as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State and CPR/BLS
• Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures that nurse practitioners are trained to do and are necessary for practicing in health care centers
• Competence in delivery of health care to patients (including preventative health education)
• Ability to collaborate with other members of the Health Center in order to maintain high quality standards and achieve client satisfaction
• Preferred Work Experience: 1-2 years
