Provide advanced medical care for patients with psychiatric disorders. Diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases and injuries that commonly occur in this population. Prescribe medications for patients having psychiatric-mental health problems and those with Substance Use Disorders (i.e., buprenorphine prescriber).
Federally Qualified Health Centers participate in the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program. Clinicians who serve at least two years full-time at an FQHC can receive up to $75,000 in tax-free loan repayment (or up to $100,000 in some Substance Use Disorder Workforce categories). Half-time service is also eligible at a reduced award. Eligibility extends to NPs, PAs, CNMs, CRNAs, and physicians with qualifying education debt.
