Bartz-Altadonna’s Community Health Center (BACHC) is a federally qualified health center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive medical care and specialty services for HIV and Hepatitis C for low-income, uninsured, underinsured, and underserved population.
Under the direction of the pharmacy manager, the staff pharmacist is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the pharmacy, including dispensing medications, counseling patients, and ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws and regulatory requirements. This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care by accurately preparing and verifying prescriptions and collaborating with other healthcare providers. The staff pharmacist also assists with inventory management to ensure medications are stocked, safe, and cost-effective.
Responsibilities
Patient care and clinical services:
- Dispense medications accurately and counsel patients on proper use, possible side effects, and interactions with other medications.
- Provide medication therapy management (MTM) to optimize patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure integrated and comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor patients' adherence to prescribed medications and make necessary interventions.
340B Program Support
- Ensure proper handling and documentation of 340B medications, including compliance with program regulations.
- Assist the Pharmacy Manager in monitoring 340B inventory and preventing diversion and duplicate discounts.
Compliance and quality assurance:
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations as well as BACHC policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records for audits and inspections, ensuring the pharmacy is always prepared for state board and HRSA audits.
- Ensure the proper disposal of expired medications in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Operations support:
- Assist in maintaining pharmacy inventory, including ordering, restocking, and managing expiration dates.
- Work with pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth daily operations and compliance with all relevant ratios and regulations.
- Support the Pharmacy Manager with additional operational tasks as needed.
Team collaboration:
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive team environment that values diversity and teamwork.

Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Clinic Process and Quality Manager, and with direction from the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Medical Officer, the Certified Medical Assistant assists physicians, mid-level providers and other care team members in the delivery of efficient and high-quality healthcare.

- Administer medications, immunizations, and injections as ordered.
- Follow universal precautions to protect self and patients.

- Follows up with medical records department to make sure lab and x-ray reports are received, receives and relays reports to patients based on instructions from medical providers.
- Follow up with referral department to ensure that medical provider’s referral requests are submitted and/or get status of pending referrals
- For VFC clients, input immunization into CAIR Program and retrieves histories when needed.
- Back-up VFC Coordinators as needed.
- Maintain examination rooms clean following OSHA Guidelines.
- Stock exam rooms with supplies on a daily basis and provide proof of documentation by signing the exam room checklist daily.
- Complete MA Performance Criteria training sheet.
- Perform CLIA Waived Testing.
- Interpret for the clinical staff, when necessary, “Spanish/English” and assist providers to language interpretation when asked to do so.
- Under the direction of the nurse or provider in-charge, takes responsibility of medical supplies and cleaning of the medical instruments and equipment.
- Provide HIV/Antibody counseling in accordance with established protocols and in compliance with State and Federal requirements.
- Direct patients to the laboratory and or check-out departments upon completion of face-to-face encounter with the medical provider.

Working Conditions
Physically, the medical assistant works in close proximity with the provider and works in close contact with patients who visit the health center. For safety purposes, medical assistants have to be vigilant, meticulous and take proper precautions considering that they may, including but not limited to, change dressings, handle various tools or treatments, administer vaccinations, etc.

This position will play a vital role in the Health Center’s Behavioral Health program. Under the directive of the Director of Behavioral Health and / or Chief Medical Officer, the psychiatrist is responsible for psychiatric, diagnostic, and therapeutic services. The candidate will be responsible for meeting, assessing, diagnosing, and providing psychiatric out-patient services for patients and clients of BACHC.
Essential Functions
- Provide psychiatric, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to patients.
- Conduct psychiatric examinations and evaluations.
- Makes diagnoses and prescribes therapy.
- Conducts individual and group psychotherapy.

Our program serves as a designated continuity clinic for Palmdale Regional Medical Center’s Residency Program and is embedded within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) committed to advancing health equity and access for medically underserved and vulnerable populations across the Antelope Valley and greater Los Angeles County.
Residents and faculty engage in longitudinal, patient-centered ambulatory training that integrates evidence-based medicine, population health, quality improvement, and team-based care. Our program is aligned with HRSA priorities and ACGME standards, emphasizing clinical excellence, culturally responsive care, community engagement, and the development of future physician leaders dedicated to service in high-need communities.
Faculty plays a central role in resident mentorship, bedside and ambulatory teaching, curriculum development, resident assessment and evaluation, quality and patient safety initiatives, and the delivery of comprehensive care across both inpatient and outpatient settings, while contributing to scholarly activity and continuous program innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical supervision and teaching of FM and IM residents in ambulatory setting.

7. Assist patients with determining eligibility for health coverage programs and other programs as needed. This includes assistance with forms, making initial contacts and appointments for the patient. Follow-up with the patient to ensure linkages to services are made.
8. Document findings in patient’s medical records according to established protocol. Submit quarterly reports on number of unduplicated clients, behavioral health consultations, screenings, assessments and brief treatment encounters provided.
9. Maintain confidentiality regarding privileged administrative and client information in a professional manner.
10 Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
This is mostly in an office setting; however, this position may require sitting for prolonged periods of time. Walking, bending, and reaching may be required as well.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, hours range from 7:30am-6:30pm with occasional approved overtime.

On occasion travel will be required.
Pay: $84,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
