This position’s main function is to provide primary care to patients at SCHC facilities. There are additional responsibilities that involve some administrative function, overseeing programs, participating in community outreach and education, some supervisory functions, and generally performing tasks that maximize quality of care provided to SCHC patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Behavioral Health Clinician is a licensed clinical provider and integral member of the clinical team at SCHC and is responsible for ensuring effective care and treatment for patients with behavioral health disorders. The Behavioral Health Clinician works directly alongside medical providers and other members of the care team within the context of a primary care medical home. Key roles include assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients with a variety of mental health and substance use disorders that may receive short or long-term care. The Behavioral Health Clinician will support patients in developing their ability to self-manage both behavioral health and medical needs and will act as a collaborative resource for other members of the care team.
Federally Qualified Health Centers participate in the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program. Clinicians who serve at least two years full-time at an FQHC can receive up to $75,000 in tax-free loan repayment (or up to $100,000 in some Substance Use Disorder Workforce categories). Half-time service is also eligible at a reduced award. Eligibility extends to NPs, PAs, CNMs, CRNAs, and physicians with qualifying education debt.
