We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant for a locum tenens assignment in South Dakota. This opportunity begins on Feb 7, 2026, with a 7-day contract featuring 24-hour shifts. The provider will serve as the sole clinician in the emergency department, rounding on patients and stabilizing them for transfer. Job Details Location: South Dakota Start Date: Feb 7, 2026 LOA: 7 days Provider Type Needed: Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Schedule: 24-hour shifts, 8a - 8a; scheduled dates are Feb 7, 8, 9, 13, 16, 17, 18 Responsibilities and Duties Serve as the sole provider in the emergency department Round on patients in the ED Stabilize patients for transfer as needed Additional Information South Dakota license required Preferred experience in rural emergency departments and as a sole provider Required board certifications: Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Urgent Care Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required EMR: Other Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
