The Area
Calais, ME: In the far northeastern part of Maine, Calais sits along the St. Croix River – the international boundary between Maine and Canada – and there are three bridges into New Brunswick from the town. Though not a coastal community, visitors can observe some of the highest tides in the contiguous United States as the river rises and falls 25 feet twice each day, pulled by the Atlantic Ocean into Passamaquoddy Bay. The city is known for its historic buildings and natural beauty.

The Group
CCH is a 25 bed critical access hospital for acute care and swing bed patients with a 24-hour physician staffed emergency department. CCH is the largest employer in Calais, employing more than 200 people.
Services offered at the Hospital include clinics in cardiology; prosthetics-orthotics; and blood pressure. Out-patient services include laboratory procedures, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, osteoporosis management and prevention, radiology, including fixed unit CT scan, mobile MRI, bone density testing, ultrasound exams and digital mammography, infusion services, day surgery, pulmonary rehabilitation, nutritional counseling and respiratory care procedures. A multi-specialty courtesy staff of physicians and a variety of allied medical specialists compliment the members of the Hospital's active medical staff.

They are sister hospitals to Down East Community Hospital in Machias, ME (approx 45 miles or 45 min-1hr away). DECH purchased Calais in June 2021.

The Position
*2 Permanent APP providers needed for Family/Primary Care Clinic
*FNP/PA is responsible to provide high quality family practice services in a free standing clinical practice setting using facilities, equipment, and support services provided by the Hospital.
*40 hours per week: Mon-Fri and would consider four 10's or five 8's
*No weekends, No Call
*Will be working with other providers including a MD/DO on-site at least 4 days of the week and available for phone consulting if needed when not on-site
*Will consider New Graduates - now saying wanting experience
*Will train/orient at beginning that will include shadow shifts (for new grads would be longer shadowing process) and expectation is to work up to 15-20 patients per day.
*EMR: Athena
*Will consider candidates pending a ME license
*Credentialing is approx 90 days - can work on ME license while credentialing

Will also have need for 2 additional NP/PAs later this summer for a new Family clinic opening in Baileyville, ME.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary range: $120K DOE (they have published $110K for new grad, but know they will need to increase this and open to discussing with providers)
Production or quality incentive: Incentives possibly (for 3 years experience)
Sign-on Bonus: $25K
