Responsibilities

• Contribute to physician's effectiveness by identifying patient care issues, providing pertinent information, recommending options, and implementing physician directives.
• Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining/updating medical histories.
• Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests and interpreting test results.
• Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Perform therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations, suturing, and managing wounds and infections.
• Instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems, and promoting wellness.
• Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
• Direct outpatient care including the assessment and treatment of adult, pediatric, and gynecologic/prenatal acute and chronic diseases utilizing prudent clinical judgment and current standards of care.

Compensation

• Min: $142,888
• Max: $152,132
• Advance Physician Assistant - $1,000 Annually

Requirements

• Valid California P.A. license, prefer certification
• Prefer Masters degree
• Current valid CPR
• FQHC experience, highly preferred
• Excellent analytical skills
• Motivation to take initiative to ensure all tasks performed are completed thoroughly and accurately
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of administrative principles and procedures
• Computer knowledge preferred (e.g., NextGen (E.H.R. & PMS), Microsoft Word and Excel)
• Bilingual English/Spanish and familiarity with the Hispanic culture
