Position Summary:
Primary Healthcare Centers is seeking a Licensed Behavioral Health Specialist (LPC, LMFT, or LCSW) to join our integrated care team. This role plays a vital part in improving patient wellness by providing counseling, crisis intervention, and brief behavioral consultations in a primary care setting. The ideal candidate is patient-centered, collaborative, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual therapy, behavioral consultations, and psychoeducation using evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to create and support patient-centered care plans.
- Assess and address mental, emotional, and social needs, including crisis intervention when necessary.
- Provide referrals, coordinate care, and support patients with chronic conditions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EHR.
- Participate in outreach events and community engagement activities.
- Support continuous improvement of integrated behavioral health practices.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to other behavioral health staff if serving in a lead role.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a human services field (required).
- Active LPC, LMFT, or LCSW licensure in the state of Georgia (required).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in behavioral health; experience in primary care preferred.
- Proficient in motivational interviewing and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to assess and respond to crisis situations effectively.
- Experience with EHR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license required.

- Patient populations served may include adults, geriatrics, children, and adolescents.
- Some remote work may be permitted.

- Pay Schedule: Employees are paid bi-weekly.
- Paid Time Off (PTO): PTO accrual begins at 5.848 hours per pay period, totaling 18 PTO days per calendar year for the first 2 years of employment. (90 day waiting period before employees can access) for employee who work 40 hours or more each week. On employee third anniversary accruals go up to 6.464 hours a pay period, totaling 21 days of PTO per calendar year. Accruals will be prorated based on hours worked each week.
- Extended Illness Bank (EIB): Employees are awarded 40 hours of EIB per calendar year, to be used for extended illnesses. To access EIB time employees must use two days of PTO and then they are able to access EIB time. (90 day waiting period before employees can access). EIB hours will be prorated if an employee works less than 40 hours each week.
- Paid Paternal leave: Up to two weeks of leave after all PTO and EIB is exhausted. Employees are eligible after 1 year of employment with Primary Healthcare Centers
- Holidays: PHC provides 8 paid holidays annually.
- Continuing Medical Education (CME): Employees receive an annual CME allowance of $2,000 and 5 paid days to attend.
- Cell Phone Reimbursement: Providers are reimbursed $50 per month for cell phone expenses.
