POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing primary health care to center patients within the structure of the family practice model; in addition, serves on committees, discharges administrative responsibilities, attends departmental meetings; participates in night and weekend on-call coverage rotation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation with a master’s or higher degree from an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner education program. Current New York State license is required. Must also have current BLS and infection control certifications. Must have a current DEA Registration, if applicable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ambulatory - 95%
Sedentary - 5%
Subject to stress and fatigue. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye hand coordination when working with patients and equipment. Subject to repeated bending, squatting and stooping. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
New York requires a physician relationship for at least one part of nurse practitioner practice.
