Northeastern Rural Health Clinics is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner to join our primary care team in Susanville, California. This is an opportunity to practice comprehensive family medicine, build lasting patient relationships, and make a visible difference in a rural community where access to quality care matters.
The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide preventive, acute, and chronic care to patients across the lifespan. Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients, developing care plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, prescribing medications, and coordinating referrals and follow-up care.
On a full clinic day, providers can expect to see approximately 18–20 patients. The schedule includes dedicated administrative time to support documentation, follow-up, and care coordination.
Full-time scheduling is flexible, with the option of working five eight-hour days or four ten-hour days. Clinic schedules may begin as early as 7:00 a.m. and are arranged Monday through Friday, with no regular weekend schedule or hospital call. Clinic call is minimal, averaging approximately two telephone calls per week, and does not require the provider to report to the clinic.

You will join a close-knit provider group that includes clinicians early in their careers as well as providers with more than 30 years of experience, creating opportunities for mentorship, shared learning, and support between colleagues.
For candidates interested in taking a broader role in the organization, an optional Medical Director leadership opportunity may also be available. The arrangement generally includes an 80% clinical and 20% leadership schedule, allowing the provider to remain actively involved in patient care while helping guide clinical operations and provider support.
