Compensation:
- $47,400 - $60,648/year (24 hours or 0.6 FTE) depending on experience and skills
- $4,000 sign-on bonus! First $2,000 payment paid after 30 days of employment, second $2,000 payment paid after 12 months of employment

Orchid Health’s McKenzie River Clinic is located in Blue River, Oregon, on Highway 126, east of Eugene/Springfield. Aptly named for the striking blue color of its rocky bed, Blue River is a charming community located at the confluence of the Blue and McKenzie rivers in the Willamette National Forest. It’s home to the Belknap Covered Bridge, the H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest, and cozy mountain cottages, reservoirs, and prime fishing spots.
The schedule for this position is 24 hours per week (3 days). Days of the week are flexible - the clinic is closed on Fridays.
The Behavioral Health Clinician supports the vision of healthy rural communities and accessible, integrated care by providing compassionate, person-centered behavioral health services within a primary care setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide patient-centered, strengths-based care using a shared goals approach across care settings.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support whole-person integrated care, including warm hand-offs and case consultation with medical providers and allied health staff.
- Provide short-term behavioral health interventions as part of routine primary care. Conduct screenings, assessments, and interventions to support patients’ physical, mental, and behavioral health needs.
- Maintain a population-based approach to care, managing scheduled visits with same-day needs i.e. respond to urgent or emergent situations and provide real-time consultation.
- Support care teams by offering guidance on appropriate levels of behavioral health care and referral pathways.
- Serve approximately 6-8 patients per day while maintaining quality, efficiency, and responsiveness to patient needs.
- Collaborate and build relationships with community partners to enhance access to comprehensive, coordinated services that support whole-person care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations and patient care.

Required Qualifications:
- A Master's in Social Work or Masters of Counseling from an accredited college or university.
- Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA), Personal Counselor Associate (PCA) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) required.
- A minimum of one (1) year post-graduate (Master's) experience of providing behavioral health services (i.e. assessment, diagnosis, or treatment of an individual's behavioral health needs) in the behavioral health field required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidates who have completed their Oregon clinical licensure or actively engaged in the process of obtaining Oregon clinical licensure strongly preferred.
- Experience in integrated primary care and/or rural healthcare settings.
- Experience in behavioral health brief short-term therapy strategies.
- Experience working with children, adolescents and/or aging populations.
Work Environment:
While in the clinic, team members may be exposed to viruses, disease, and infection from patients and specimens in the working environment. Team members may be required to work for extended periods of time at a computer. Team members use standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, and e-fax.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may be regularly required to use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. This position requires intermittent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and crouching, as well as lifting and supporting patients. Computer work is required for in-clinic positions. Light to moderate lifting may be required.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area may be expected on occasion (CME events, or activities involving other Orchid Health Clinics).

- $111,200 – $136,000/year (0.8 FTE) or $83,400 - $102,000/year (0.6 FTE) depending on experience and skills

Responsibilities:
Clinical Competency
- Provide comprehensive primary care to patients in a professional manner, leading to trust, engagement, and positive health outcomes.
- Treat all patients equally and to the best of your ability.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
- Model actions that demonstrate respect for all individuals, treating patients without judgment or prejudice.
- Practice empathy, using a Trauma Informed Care approach with all patients.
- Maintain licensure and certifications and follow all necessary measures to maintain and demonstrate competency as required by your Licensing Board.
Clinical Responsibility
- Create and maintain thorough patient records including health history, present illness, physical findings, assessment, medical decision making, and treatment plans. Orders for prescription drugs, diagnostic testing, and referrals should be documented. Interpretation of test results should also be documented.
- Maintain chart notes comprehensively, with proper management of Problem Lists and Medication Lists.
- Respond to patient lab, imaging, and referral results within 24 hours on days scheduled on duty.
- Provide inbasket coverage for PCPs on days assigned to work as outlined in policy “Operations - Out of Office Coverage Policy.” Labs and other orders (other than point of care and orders that will be carried out the same day) should be placed under the name of the patient's PCP, so PCP and their team will be responsible for responding.
- Complete patient charts within 24 hours of providing a visit to a patient.
- Be available for consultation, assistance with medical/mental health emergencies and referrals by Orchid staff while at the clinic.
- Respond to patient queries and cases daily when scheduled to be in the clinic.
- Work to meet productivity targets as agreed upon by the leadership team.
- Follow Clinical Guidelines for the management of patient health issues in a competent manner.
- Adhere to policies in managing patients prescribed Controlled Substances.
- This employee will cover clinic practices on an as-needed basis: Vacation/PTO coverage, Inbox coverage, Extended leave coverage.
- Provider will also have a primary location to act as a base for clinical work when not assigned to other clinics.
