The Midlevel Provider for Pediatric reports directly to the Director of Pediatrics and is responsible for providing direct patient care including history review, health education, physical exam, counseling, diagnosis and treatment according to protocols and meeting productivity goals. The Midlevel Provider for Pediatric will be part of a team working in collaboration with the clinic staff to provide primary health care services effectively and efficiently.

The Midlevel Provider for Pediatric will be part of a team working in collaboration with the clinic staff to provide primary health care services effectively and efficiently.
The Family Practice Physician reports directly to the Director of Family Practice and is responsible for providing direct patient care including history review, health education, physical exam, counseling, diagnosis and treatment according to protocols, and meeting productivity goals. The Family Practice Physician is responsible for the delivery of quality medical care to patients of the Center and functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team within the scope of his or her medical practice.
1. Provides outpatient medical care at the health center.
2. Provider is responsible for maintaining licensure in good standing in the state of Texas.
3. Provider is responsible for maintaining medical expertise and competency as well as demonstrating thorough knowledge of procedures to deliver quality primary medical care. Provides medical sessions, as scheduled, in direct patient care at the health center.
4. Provider examines, diagnoses, treats and/or refers patients for appropriate specialty care services.
5. Provider prescribe medications and make recommendations for other forms of treatment.
6. Provider reviews all lab and x-ray reports for patients under his/her care in a timely manner and makes medical management decisions appropriately. He/she also follows appropriate standards of care for each patient.
7. Provider maintains a problem oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with the health center’s established information management policies and procedures.
8. Provider performs, orders, and interprets diagnostic studies and medical protocols.
9. Provider refers patients for appropriate specialty care services, lab and x-ray and any other ancillary services that are appropriate for patient’s management and care. Provider adheres to the team care approach by working with Medical Assistants, Nurses, Referral Specialists, CHWs and others as needed.
10. Provider reviews all lab and x-ray reports for patients under his/her care on a timely basis and makes medical management decisions appropriately. Provider follows appropriate standards of care for each patient.
11. Provider properly provides education and support to patients ensuring that they receive guidance on navigating the healthcare system plus addressing patient’s questions and/or problems.
12. Ensures that patient and family/significant others are educated about diagnosis and plan of care.
13. Acts as a resource and patient advocate for facilitating communication when necessary.
