This is an at-will position. Compensation is commensurate with experience for fully licensed Psychologists. Provisionally licensed individuals are also encouraged to apply and will be considered at $95,000 minimum starting salary.
Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW), York, NE: NCCW is the state's only secure correctional facility for adult women. It also serves as the diagnostic and evaluation center for newly committed incarcerated females. Mental Health services range from intake assessments to crisis intervention and chronic care services. NCCW has a 30 bed special needs unit.
Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP), Lincoln, NE: The facility opened in 1869 and is the oldest state correctional facility in Nebraska. The incarcerated population consists primarily of adult men serving sentences of varying length. Mental Health services include individual counseling, crisis assessment, group counseling, and treatment planning.
Reception and Treatment Center* (RTC), Lincoln, NE: RTC is the diagnostic and evaluation center for newly committed incarcerated men. The facility houses specialized residential treatment units. Mental Health services range from intake assessments to crisis intervention, chronic care services, and residential treatment.
Tecumseh State Correctional Institution* (TSCI), Tecumseh, NE: TSCI houses adult males serving sentences of varying lengths. Mental Health services include individual counseling, crisis assessment, group counseling, and treatment planning. The facility houses a restrictive housing unit and special populations.
*RTC and TSCI are National Health Service Corps loan repayment sites.
DUTIES:
*Provide clinical consultation to mental health staff.
*May assist the Mental Health Director in the supervision of other non-licensed psychologist, students, and other mental health practitioners.
*Provide training to other healthcare and correctional staff as needed.
*Assist in the development, establishment, implementation and evaluation of psychological and other mental health services for various incarcerated populations as needed.
*Assist in developing policies and procedures as well as clinical programming.
*Administer psychological tests and interpret testing results.
*Perform comprehensive psychological evaluations directed towards the determination of diagnosis, risks and needs, with subsequent appropriate course of treatment.
*Assist in administering and interpret various risk assessments and provide treatment recommendations and/or develop treatment plans to address risk areas.
*Develop or supervise the development of behavioral plans for high risk or incarcerated individuals with special needs.
*Provide psychotherapy and treatment services.
*Provide psychological services to incarcerated individuals including observation, crisis intervention, and mental status evaluations.
*Participate in involuntary medication hearings.
*Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings as required.
*Participate/supervise the preparation of information for, and participate in, various clinical review teams as needed.
*Maintain and complete paperwork, reports and other documentation according to policy and as needed and required.
*Maintain current Nebraska licensure.
