Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Primary Care team in Andrews, NC. This role supports a certified Rural Health Clinic, where physicians, NPs, and PAs collaborate to provide high‑quality, accessible primary care to patients across Western North Carolina. You will be part of a team committed to improving access, enhancing care, and building long-term patient relationships in a welcoming, community-focused environment.
Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive primary care services, including preventive care, chronic disease management, acute care visits, wellness exams, and patient education.
Conduct patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans aligned with evidence-based practice. Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary team members in a Rural Health Clinic model to ensure seamless, patient-centered care. Manage common primary care conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, upper respiratory infections, arthritis, mental health conditions, and more. Maintain accurate documentation and support continuity of care across outpatient settings. Participate in quality initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and clinic workflow. Engage in patient education to promote preventive health and healthy lifestyle choices.
Clinic hours in Andrews operate 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with a midday lunch break. Outpatient-only schedule with no nights, weekends, or inpatient call required (typical for this clinic setting). Work within a supportive, team-based environment anchored by Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital, the region’s only local hospital affiliated with a major academic medical center.

Federally Qualified Health Centers participate in the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program. Clinicians who serve at least two years full-time at an FQHC can receive up to $75,000 in tax-free loan repayment (or up to $100,000 in some Substance Use Disorder Workforce categories). Half-time service is also eligible at a reduced award. Eligibility extends to NPs, PAs, CNMs, CRNAs, and physicians with qualifying education debt.
