Certified Nurse Midwife

Su Clinica is seeking a dedicated Nurse-Midwife to provide comprehensive primary healthcare management for well women throughout the reproductive cycle. This role involves supporting PCMH principles, policies, and procedures, and working under the administrative and clinical supervision of the Director of Su Clinica Women's Health Center. The successful candidate will ensure patients have a pleasant and satisfactory experience, participating in decision-making and coordinating care with internal and external entities.

• Functions under the administrative and clinical supervision of the Director of Su Clinica Women's Health Center
• Supports the established philosophy, policies and protocols of Su Clinica
• Adheres to the philosophy and standards of the American College of Nurse-Midwives
• May provide services to patients by telemedicine, telehealth, or telephonic methods
• Works collaboratively with nursing, referrals, medical records, laboratory, and operational teams

Responsibilities

• Provide primary health care management for well women throughout the reproductive cycle within established nurse-midwifery guidelines
• Review and complete medical, obstetrical, family, dietary, and socio-economic histories using a problem-oriented approach
• Manage normal (low-risk) pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum courses, including teaching, counseling, and support
• Consult with Obstetrician or Medical Consultant for patients with complications outside nurse-midwifery guidelines
• Participate in in-service education for clinic staff and other professional groups
• Maintain data for Su Clinica and complete charts in EMR within guidelines
• Participate in Peer Review, Quality Assurance, Utilization Review, and other activities to assure patient care services are within developed criteria
• Participate in the education and clinical supervision of nurse-midwifery students and other health care professionals

Shift & Schedule

• May be necessary to work extended hours or other variations of the usual shift to ensure adequate care to patients
• Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with clinic leave policy
• Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule

Requirements

• Knowledge of Patient-Centered Medical Home Model (PCMH)
• Knowledge of SCF policies and procedures
• Knowledge in providing effective Customer Service on a daily basis
• Knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) programs
• Skilled in excellent customer and communication skills
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
• Must be a registered nurse in the State of Texas
• Must be Board approved to practice as an advanced practice nurse
• Experience in working with the public
• Must be current with CPR
