Job Summary
The Obstetrician/Gynecologist (OB/GYN) is responsible for providing medical care to women relating to pregnancy or childbirth; responsible for treating, testing, diagnosing and monitoring diseases and provide general care to women.
Responsibilities

Universal Primary Care, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our growing women's health team.
The CNM provides a full range of direct and collaborative obstetrical and gynecological health care services for women in a variety of clinical settings. Utilizes advanced clinical knowledge and expertise to provide ongoing physical and emotional care, support, education, and counseling to women and their families transitioning throughout the childbearing cycle inclusive of, family planning services, preconception care, care during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period, as well as care to normal newborns during the first 28 days of life.

Job Responsibilities
- Conducts complete history and physical examinations/health assessments of patients and families with real or potential, acute, and/or chronic health problems in the outpatient setting.
- Provides referrals to other health professionals and community agencies, as needed.
- Initiates selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures (including non-stress testing and biophysical profiles), consultation, and laboratory examinations, as needed.
- Provides maximum continuity of care for patients and families transitioning throughout the phases of antepartal, labor, delivery, post-partal, family planning-intercontraceptional care periods.
- Responsible for the management of the medically uncomplicated and low-risk patient throughout the maternity cycle.
- Follows progress of pregnancy in the office and labor of all patients in labor and delivery unit at Olean General Hospital within the scope of midwifery practice.
- May assume management of labor and delivery of the medically, uncomplicated low risk patient, including management of frequently encountered problems with medically approved orders mutually agreed upon by both physician and midwife.
- Participates in group call schedule for labor and delivery.
- Examines patients.

Under the general supervision of the lead physician and in accordance with standardized procedures, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals and families with psychiatric disorders and substance use issues, across the lifespan (age 12+). Perform comprehensive mental health assessments, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide psychotherapy.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Graduate of an accredited school
- Current New York and/or Pennsylvania State Licensure
- Successful completion of BLS course required
- Holds and maintains board certification in field
- PMHNP-BC certification
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Knowledge of current mental health laws and ethical standards

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide consultation weekly to behavioral health care management team members on staff, such as LCSW’s, LMHC’s, Master’s Level Therapists, etc.
- Provide consultation and education as needed to other providers, such as physicians and other APP practitioners in the organization.
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Diagnose and treat mental health disorders
- Prescribe medications and other treatments as necessary
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, and provide supportive therapy as clinically indicated.
- Document patient care in electronic medical records and ensure compliance with regulations and standards
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options
- Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) activities, including regularly scheduled meetings, clinical audits and peer review.
- Advise the Risk Manager and/or Chief Medical Officer of any situations that may adversely impact the efficiency of the medical or behavioral health department.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative, fellow peers, and other work related outside agencies.
- At all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with supervisors, subordinates, colleagues, clients and the community.
