Certified Nurse Midwife

Esperanza Health Centers is seeking a dedicated healthcare professional to provide comprehensive prenatal, obstetric, well-woman, and gynecological care to adult patients. This role emphasizes primary care concepts, illness prevention, and health promotion in both ambulatory and in-patient settings. The successful candidate will also contribute to program planning for health activities within the center and the community.

Practice Info

• Manages ambulatory primary care medical practice.
• Adheres to Esperanza Health Centers Team Productivity standard of 2.3 patients per hour.
• Participates in Quality Improvement activities including peer review.
• Practices evidence based, cost effective primary care in a team approach model.
• Provides inpatient OB/GYN care for Esperanza patients at appropriate hospitals.
• Maintains liaison with partner hospitals' medical staff and ambulatory care departments.

Responsibilities

• Manage ambulatory primary care medical practice by eliciting patient histories, performing physical examinations, providing accurate clinical diagnoses, prescribing evidence based and cost-effective treatments and providing patient education.
• Maintain and promote patient satisfaction through acknowledgement that environmental, social and cultural factors influence one's health including using AIDET in all patient interactions.
• Make appropriate diagnoses and write prescriptions and referrals consistent with Esperanza Health Centers medical practice guidelines.
• Prepare, implement and document age specific preventative health schedules for patients.
• Build and maintain a Primary Care practice with follow-up of return appointments and referrals, in-patient management and other methods that assure continuity of care.
• Maintain clinical competency through regular continuing medical education and provide documentation of such to Administration.
• Provide inpatient OB/GYN care for Esperanza patients at appropriate hospitals as assigned by the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Midwifery Medical Director.
• Take calls for Esperanza Health Centers patients as assigned by the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Midwifery Medical Director.

Compensation

• Compensation (Based on experience): $100,000-$120,000
• Salary Description: $100,000 - $120,000

Shift & Schedule

• Full-Time, Monday Through Friday, Evening or weekend work required.
• Inpatient call schedule will be determined based on the needs of health center patients.
• Take calls for Esperanza Health Centers patients as assigned by the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Midwifery Medical Director.

Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing School.
• Completed an Accredited Post-Graduate Training Program.
• Current IL State License, Controlled Substance License, and DEA registration.
• Bilingual English/Spanish, required.
