Title: Supervising Dentist & Clinical Mentor
Whittier Street Health Center is seeking an experienced Massachusetts-licensed dentist with strong knowledge of BORID regulations and significant experience practicing dentistry within Massachusetts. This role includes direct patient care, clinical supervision, and regulatory oversight of limited license dentists within a community health and academic training environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to limited license dentists in accordance with Massachusetts BORID regulations
· Provide comprehensive dental care while serving as a clinical and regulatory resource within the dental department
· Conduct periodic chart reviews, treatment plan audits, and clinical competency assessments
· Ensure compliance with OSHA, CDC infection control standards, radiation safety requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations
· Support safe prescribing practices and ensure compliance with Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration (MCSR) requirements
· Establish and maintain appropriate emergency response and specialty referral pathways
· Collaborate with leadership to maintain high standards of clinical quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance
Qualifications:
· DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
· Active unrestricted Massachusetts dental license
· Minimum 5 years of clinical dental experience, including significant experience practicing dentistry within Massachusetts
· Demonstrated knowledge of Massachusetts dental regulatory, compliance, and BORID standards
· Experience supervising, mentoring, or reviewing the work of dental providers, residents, students, or limited license dentists strongly preferred
· Experience in community health, academic, residency, or teaching environments preferred
· Current DEA registration (if applicable) and BLS certification
· Commitment to serving diverse and underserved patient populations
· Strong clinical judgment, communication, leadership, and mentorship skills
