Certified Nurse Midwife

Wellness Pointe is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to provide comprehensive patient care and education to obstetrical and gynecological patients. This role involves direct prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum services, as well as primary care for low-risk and at-risk patients. The successful candidate will work under a collaborative agreement with a physician, contributing to a multifaceted clinic that offers a wide range of healthcare services.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum patient services and primary care to low risk and at-risk obstetrical and gynecological patients
• Assist with the follow-up care of referrals and provide appropriate information to the referral source
• Provide inpatient care for obstetrical patients in accordance with hospital protocols for Certified Nurse Midwife care
• Monitor quality of patient records and ensure inclusion of all appropriate findings, recommendations, follow-up care and referral
• Provide educational and other related services for well women care; manage well women care for essentially healthy women through their life cycle
• Provide staff and student education
• Assist in the review and development of standing orders and policies and procedures
• Participate in a team approach to patient care and provide for effective communication to other system staff to ensure continuity of care

Shift & Schedule

• Participate in call rotation for the OB/GYN department per individual contract obligation and with MD/DO backup

Requirements

• Advance Practice Nurse licensed to practice in the State of Texas
• Board Certified
• Graduate of an approved and accredited program for Nurse Midwifery
• Certified Nurse Midwife
• Certification by National Organization, ACCE
• One year of experience as a Certified Nurse Midwife preferred
• CPR Certified
• Requires a valid Texas Driver's License, appropriate driving record and auto liability insurance that meets the minimum required by State of Texas statute
