Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute needs help covering two LOA’s beginning in January 2027 through July 2027 (due to MFLA). May utilize locums provider ongoing after that for holidays, LOAs etc.
• Local or out of state (licensing candidates) accepted
• Will accept someone for weekend-only coverage
• If wanting full time, Critical Care experience may be required
• Acute Care Certification is *not* required
• Must have 2 years or more cardiology experience as an APP
• Candidates will Interview with Lead APP and Lisa Smith APRN, CCNS, HF-Cert (Director Cardiovascular Advanced Practice Providers)

Inpatient Only

Contract Length: Ongoing

Shift Details:
10 hour days 7-5pm M-F Weekends
*Biggest need is 10 hour days on weekends
Schedule: 1 FTE someone for Weekends (technically 2 needs)

Work Details:
• Support staff: 1:1 APP to MD. Full support staff weekdays and weekends
• Amount of coverage needed per month: 1 FTE weekend coverage (rotated between 6 APP)
• For floor/stepdown work: 8-12 patients per day
For CCU: 4-6 patients per day
• Patient population/age: Adults
• EMR: Epic
• Charting is expected to be completed by EOD each day
• Hospital bed size: 128
• Special procedures: Rounding on General Cardiology pts
Critical Care (ONLY if experienced, not required for weekend coverage. Will be needed for full time placement)
Advanced Heart Failure (ONLY if experienced, not required)
• Skills required: General Cardiology Required. Will round on general cardiology pts and only cover critical care if experienced.

• Board Certification: Required

• DEA: Yes
• Certifications required: APRN or NCCPA
• NOT Required: Acute Care Certification
• Minimum experience required: 2 years

Credentialing Timeframe: 90-120 days from time of application submittal to CVO
