Under the direction of the Medical Director, the Nurse Practitioner (APRN) conducts History, Examination and Treatment of simple to complex medical conditions whereby the conditions are typically managed on an outpatient basis within the SCA scope of practice. Examples of such conditions include: acute upper respiratory viral infectious conditions, acute ENT viral and bacterial infectious conditions (e.g., otitis externa, otitis media, and pharyngitis), mild to moderate asthma exacerbations, simple dermatological disorders (e.g., uncomplicated burns, contact dermatitis, simple I&D, and atopic dermatitis) and common sexually transmitted diseases.
Provides behavioral health services to NEON patients experiencing mental health conditions and emotional disorders. Conducts history and assessment; determines diagnosis; develops treatment plan and provides clinical counseling, psychosocial interventions and social psychotherapy. Provides supervision of Social Workers and coordinates integration of Primary Care and Behavioral Health care teams.
Dentist to provide quality, compressive, preventive and diagnostic services including cleanings, exams, and treatment planning. Performs restorative procedures such as fillings, crowns, root canal treatments, extractions and fixed and removable prosthodontics. Must be cognizant of the public health, social and economic factors that impact the oral and overall health of patients in an underserved setting.
Dental Hygienist cleans calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums; Applies fluorides and other cavity preventing agents to arrest dental decay. Examines gums, using probes, to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease. Performs x-ray and makes impressions for study casts when necessary; documents conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist in EHR system; Educates patient in maintaining good oral health and develops and promotes community dental health programs.
Internal Medicine Physician to treat adults 18 years and older, including history, examination, treatment and prevention of simple to moderately complex medical conditions; including Diabetes Mellitus; hypertension; obesity and COPD on an outpatient basis. Collaborates on treatment of complex conditions including oncology disorders, sickle cell disease, anticoagulation, and AIDS.

Federally Qualified Health Centers participate in the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program. Clinicians who serve at least two years full-time at an FQHC can receive up to $75,000 in tax-free loan repayment (or up to $100,000 in some Substance Use Disorder Workforce categories). Half-time service is also eligible at a reduced award. Eligibility extends to NPs, PAs, CNMs, CRNAs, and physicians with qualifying education debt.
