Physicians are integral members of the clinical team. The Physician provides cost-effective services to low-income families and individuals, with a special focus on providing culturally and linguistically appropriate health and wellness services to the residents of the community. The Physician must be committed to delivering timely, efficient, quality medical care to all patients in a professional, caring, and ethical manner.
The staff Pediatrician will examine and treat common acute illnesses, chronic illnesses and injuries in the pediatric population; correctly diagnose disease and formulate treatment, as well as order appropriate laboratory tests and radiology studies; and refer to specialists as needed, write prescriptions and perform office procedures within the scope of expertise protocols and available equipment. Will be flexible to see walk-in patients, will take after hours calls by telephone only – there are no inpatients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Valid California Provider License; Board-Certified in General Pediatrics MD or DO
· Valid BLS Certificate
· Knowledge of nursing process and medical model, health and physical assessment, medical diagnosis and appropriate treatments

· Renders a full schedule of patients under the following appointment guidelines: (i) 30 minutes for New Patient physicals, (ii) 15 minutes for follow-up= returning patient visits, and walk-in patient visits (iii) 30 minutes for select complicated patient appointments as designated by Kheir leadership, and (iv) extended appointment times for select procedure types, as applicable to the provider (ie. IUD insertion, colposcopy).
· Works in a team‑based setting where physicians routinely provide support, consultation, and supervision to APPs as part of standard Community Health Center operations.
· Participates in after-hour call support rotation.

• Performs history and physical examinations on adults and children. Physical exams include pre-employment, school, sports, well child periodic screening, etc.

• Assists the front office staff in making appropriate arrangements for patients who arrive when the provider they were scheduled with has been canceled, including reviewing the medical record and determining how soon and where the patient should be seen.
• Attends Practice Management and Quality Control Meetings.
• Assists in the training of support staff.
• Provides provider floater coverage as needed, ensuring seamless patient care and support across various clinic roles.
• This position requires the Physician Assistant to prescribe independently and manage their own DEA-regulated prescribing responsibilities. Prescriptions may not be deferred to a supervising physician except as required by law.

ASSIGNMENT SUMMARY
The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for obtaining health histories and performing physical examinations and laboratory tests. This person will diagnose and treat physical, social, and emotional health needs for our clients. They will take responsibility for lab follow-up, clinical questions, and clinical supervision of MA’s. They will also provide treatment and screenings at outreach events. • Provides feedback and constructive suggestions re. MA performance and clinic flow.
• Attends Practice Management Meetings.
• Assists in training of support staff.
• See a full schedule of patients under the following appointment guidelines: (i) 30 minutes for New Patient physicals, (ii) 15 minutes for follow-up and returning patient visits, (iii) 30 minutes for select complicated patient appointments as designated by the Vice President of Patient
Services and the Medical Director, and (iv) extended appointment times for select procedure types, as applicable (ie. IUD insertion, colonoscopy).
• This position requires the Nurse Practitioner to prescribe independently and manage their own DEA-regulated prescribing responsibilities. Prescriptions may not be deferred to a supervising physician except as required by law.

• Works in a team-based setting where physicians routinely provide support, consultation, and supervision to APPs as part of standard Community Health Center operations.
• Participates in after-hour call support rotation.

Kheir Clinic is a teaching institution. Physicians are expected to provide appropriate supervision and mentorship to residents (PGY1, PGY2, PGY3), medical students, nursing students, and fellows. LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER ASSIGNMENT SUMMARY
The LCSW works in tandem with members of the medical and behavioral health team to manage psychosocial aspects of chronic and acute diseases, apply behavioral principles to address lifestyle and health risk issues and provide consultation in the treatment of mental disorders and psychosocial issues. The LCSW has a solid knowledge of evidence-based behavioral assessments and interventions relevant to medical conditions, e.g., disease management, treatment adherence, and lifestyle changes. They are skilled in targeted, brief individual and group psychotherapy sessions and has the ability to make quick and accurate clinical assessments.
