Neonatology NP

Work Setting: Children's Hospital, NICU has 66 beds
Average of 40 hours per week (212 hrs. every 6 wks)
Hours 7a-7p, 7p-7a or provider can opt for 7a-7a (flexible)
Day shift: on with several NPs and 3 MDs plus support staff
Night Shift: on with 2 or 3 NPs and one MD
The provider will see at least 10 patients per day, however due to the coverage at night they'll see more patients at night.

The EMR just changed to EPIC
Compensation: DOE the Compensation starts (new grads.) ~$100K and goes up from there. They will consider new grads. If provider has student loans they will receive $350/mo. ($4200/hr.) repayment up to $25,000. $10,000 relocation allowance upon start (pro-rated pay back if leave w/in 2 yrs.).
Position Summary:
Provides total patient management for neo-natal patients in collaboration with and under the direction of a physician by assessing, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic health problems. Follows established neo-natal standards, procedures and protocols, and gives patient care directions to nursing and other staff. Adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Has knowledge of coding and billing parameters that govern provision of patient care by Nurse Practitioner within state of Tennessee and as related to individual carriers. Ensures that documentation is completed in accordance with institutional guidelines. Ensures and maintains the confidentiality of patient information and other UTMG business information in accordance with HIPAA and other compliance standards. Complies with the Code of Conduct and other established policies, including but not limited to compliance, quality and safety. Acts in accordance with UT Medical Groups' mission at all times.

Education & Experience:
Licensed as an RN, MSN degree and certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner required (must include Certification and prescriptive authority)
State of Tennessee licensure is required
2 years experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred - Open to New Grads
There isn't any productivity or quality incentives or bonuses, however they do offer yearend Bonus on the success of the year as a whole. The provider will have to have started no later than 7/1 of that year to qualify.
They do not offer a sign-on bonus, but it does come by way of relocation, the "moving allowance” is a flat $10K with a two-year commitment and it is recoverable. (that is pro-rated & taxed).
PTO is 22 Hours per month

Pension: there is a 3 or 4% of salary contribution, 5 years the provider is fully vested.
CME Time & Money – 40 Hours, $2500K
Licensure, Membership fees: TN, DEA, and Privileges covered
If the provider can prove student loan debt, they offer up to $25K of tuition assistance with $350/month in paycheck until the debt is paid off or they've reached the max of $25K.
The hospital qualifies for Federal Loan Repayment, however it is the providers responsibility to apply.
