Certified Nurse Midwife

Sea Mar Community Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join its care team. This role involves providing comprehensive well-woman, family planning, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care services. The CNM will work collaboratively with staff to deliver team-based coordinated care, upholding Sea Mar's mission to serve diverse communities with quality health services.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary well woman, family planning, antepartum, intrapartum, post-partum, and newborn care services to patients in accordance with training, experience, licensure, and Sea Mar's principles of practice and mission
• Consult with an appropriate physician (family practice, OB/GYN, pediatrics, or other specialist) as needed when patient care needs arise outside the scope of training
• Provide appropriate hospital care as required
• Refer patients to medical specialists or other sources of service when necessary
• Prescribe and/or dispense required medication to patients according to individual prescriptive authority granted by the Washington State Board
• Provide professional supervision to assigned staff of nurses and other paraprofessionals
• Participate in preventive health programs such as immunization, disease detection, and disease prevention activities, including education programs for patients and community groups
• Work closely with administrative personnel including the Clinical and Medical Director, preparing reports, grant proposals, and other administrative activities when appropriate

Requirements

• Knowledge of and interest in the unique cultural aspects of the Hispanic people
• Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred
• Graduation from an accredited training program or an acceptable equivalent
• Board Certified with appropriate Nursing Specialty Board
• Washington State license to practice medicine
• One year of experience in a family practice setting is preferred
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment
• Pre-hire and annual employee health screening required
• Annual influenza vaccine required, with exceptions for approved medical or religious exemptions
