The Organization:
Bethel Family Clinic is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in Bethel, serving the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta region of Southwest Alaska.
Bethel is located off the Alaska road system and is accessible only by air travel. The community serves as the primary regional hub for 55 surrounding villages throughout the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta.
Approximately 6,000 to 7,000 residents live in Bethel, with nearly 27,000 individuals residing throughout BFC's broader service area.
The Position:
The Medical Director is a key leadership position within BFC and serves as a member of the organization's Leadership Team. The Medical Director is responsible for oversight of all clinical medical services provided by Bethel Family Clinic.
The ideal candidate will serve as the organization's clinical leader while balancing direct patient care responsibilities with administrative and operational oversight. The Medical Director will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan, with a focus on preventive care, chronic disease management, diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury, medication management, specialty referrals, and patient education.
Position Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner:
- Education: Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Advanced Practice Nursing program.
- Licenses, Certifications: Current Alaska Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license, or ability to obtain licensure in the State of Alaska. Must be able to be fully privileged and credentialed to practice medicine by BFC.
- Specialized Skills: Excellent communication skills - written and verbal, ability to display tact and sensitivity, problem solving skills, great decision-making skills, professionalism, teamwork and leadership skills, and have resilience.
- Preferred Qualifications: At least four years of practice experience. APNP, CRNA, CNM, NP, FNP.
Compensation and Benefits:
$175K - $225K
